Watertown Shootout & Explosions at MIT Leave 1 Police Officer Dead earlier before the shoot outs one dead, the other captured apr 19 2013

WHAT HAPPENED OVERNIGHT: Police said the violent ordeal began around 10:30 p.m. Thursday evening when a 7-Eleven convenience store was robbed in Cambridge, Mass., shortly before an MIT campus police officer was shot. The suspects then hijacked a Mercedes and drove to Watertown, Mass. while being pursued by police. The chase ended in a firefight that left one suspect dead, while the other managed to slip away, police said. Federal law enforcement sources told ABC News the suspects admitted their role in the Boston Marathon bombing to the carjack victim. Now, the city of Watertown has been effectively shut down, ABC’s CHRISTINA NG reports. Public transportation has been suspended and authorities told people at closed stops and stations to go home. No vehicle traffic is allowed. A no-fly zone is in place over the city.
