quote from a blog post that explains what this command can mean:

Point sprites for runway lights causes no runway lights.

I hadn’t flown around in FG at night for some time and to my surprise when I recently tried to there were no runway lights anywhere. It turns out it was because the “Use point sprites for runway lights” was checked and that is what caused them to quit working. Any one know why?
Can someone explain what that switch is used for “what point sprites” are, or maybe point me to an explanation.Thank You

the idea girl says
how would a plane land with the lights of the runway turned off. now that’s something different.
they must have a red radar type mask on that can see invisible markers on the ground, but they are not visible to the eye.
any ideas? blog them on YOUR blog. I’m always looking for other’s data while I do my research about this.
