Karina Vetrano St. John’s University possible Rape Murdered New York USA
unsolved mystery who is her killer?
the words – St John’s University rang a bell for me – Karina did her studies there…
according to this article I was reading on MSN
An avid runner, Vetrano left her home around 5 p.m. Tuesday for a jog in the Spring Creek federal parkland.
Vetrano worked at a local catering hall and as a speech pathologist, earning a master’s degree from St. John’s University last May. Friends said she was widely traveled and well-educated.
Funeral services for Vetrano will be held at noon Saturday in Queens.
A $10,000 reward was being offered for information leading to an arrest.
so I looked it up along with the word rape
this is what I found:
maybe police should check into these men to see if any of them were in the area at the time of her death…
One of six St. John’s University students charged with taking part in a sexual assault on a female student pleaded guilty last week to reduced charges and is prepared to testify against the other suspects, it was disclosed yesterday.
The plea by Joseph Reilly, 21 years old, was revealed to lawyers for his co-defendants in State Supreme Court in Queens as opening arguments were made yesterday in the trial of three of the co-defendants on charges of sodomy and other crimes.
Court records indicate that Mr. Reilly, who had been charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony punishable by up to seven years in prison, pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year. Under a deal with the prosecutor, he might avoid jail.
According to the court documents, which Justice Joan O’Dwyer ordered sealed after the plea but unsealed yesterday, if Mr. Reilly testifies truthfully for the prosecution, the prosecutors will recommend that he be sentenced to three years’ probation. Last evening his lawyer, Patrick T. Burke, said, “If he’s called, he’ll testify.” Mr. Reilly is from Monsey, N.Y.
The case involves charges that four of the six accused men — including the three now on trial — sexually abused the woman after she was rendered helpless by alcohol on March 1, 1990.
The debauchery began in a house near the Jamaica, Queens, campus;
Bethpage, L.I., where the three men live. –
my thoughts – each of the suspects are named in this editorial below.

Brave rape victim confronts convicted attacker James Gillespie: ‘You’re less than a man’
A St. John’s University student stared down her rapist in a Queens courtroom on Thursday,
Gillespie, 23, was convicted Sept. 3 of dragging her behind a Dumpster as she walked home through Fresh Meadows following her first night working as a part-time restaurant hostess.
my thoughts now I know why it’s had it’s share of RAPE cases!
Alleged Rape (and a current coverup) at Saint John’s
Email to Michael Hemesath, Tom Stock and Bill Sexton:
As you are aware, senior swimmer [BM] left Saint John’s University early last month following a credible allegation of sexual misconduct. So credible, in fact, that a search warrant was issued.
SJU Athletic Department web site.
You are no doubt familiar with other members of the Saint John’s University Athletic Department who have covered up sexual misconduct on campus. This list includes John Gagliardi (circa 1968, 1975 and 2001), Pat Haws in 1975, and Jim Smith in 2003.
It is disappointing that the new president of the university, the current athletic director and its swim coach have joined that group.
St John’s College at Cambridge University is looking into claims of disgraceful behaviour taking place during the meetings, including jokes about sexual violence and racism.
The players were among six team members who police said went to a strip club in Pittsburgh after losing a conference game to the University of Pittsburgh and had sex with an Astoria woman who told authorities she had been raped and then hours later recanted her story.
Even after the initial rape allegations were dropped, the scandal rocked the St. John’s campus, the nation’s largest Catholic university and one of Queens’ most prominent institutions. None of the players involved was criminally charged.
it will give investigators something to look into, is it possible that any of these men who got away with it, tried it again and got scared and murdered this time, or is it another serial killer case ?
